Ask your assistant what changed
Connect your AI assistant to Platform Changelog and ask about the platform tools your projects use: "anything breaking in Argo CD or Helm this month?", "check this repo's dependencies for security fixes", "what changed in Backstage 1.56?". Answers come from the same releases, typed change lines and summaries as this site, with links back to each entry.
It is free, read-only and needs no account or key.

Tools
check_dependencies: Recent releases for a project's dependencies, with breaking changes, security fixes, the version kind (major/minor/patch), a summary and what changes for a platform team. Pass names as they appear in project files: npm packages (@backstage/cli), container images (quay.io/argoproj/argocd), Helm charts (argo/argo-cd), Terraform providers, GitHub Actions (actions/checkout), CLIs (tofu, helm) or tool names (Argo CD).list_tracked_tools: Every tool Platform Changelog tracks, with its category and current version. Use it to see what can be checked.get_release_notes: The full typed change list (added, changed, fixed, removed, deprecated, security; breaking marked) for one release of a tracked tool. Without a version, the newest release.search_changelog: Search tools, releases, change lines and editorial entries on Platform Changelog, e.g. a feature, a CVE id or a deprecation.
Dependencies are matched by the names your project already uses: npm packages (@backstage/cli), container images (quay.io/argoproj/argocd:v3.1.0), Helm charts (argo/argo-cd), Terraform providers and modules, GitHub Actions (actions/checkout@v4), CLIs (tofu) or tool names (Argo CD). Platform Changelog covers the tools in the registry, not general application libraries; anything else comes back as not tracked.
REST API
The same data over plain HTTP, open to any origin (CORS), no key, 120 requests a minute per address, cached for five minutes.
GET /api/v1/tools: every tracked tool with its category, vendor and current version.
curl https://platformchangelog.dev/api/v1/tools
GET /api/v1/updates?deps=...&days=30 or POST /api/v1/updates with { "deps": [...], "days": 30 }: matches each name to a tool and returns its releases in the window (1 to 90 days, default 30), newest first.
curl "https://platformchangelog.dev/api/v1/updates?deps=argo/argo-cd,@backstage/cli,tofu&days=14"
