Dependabot version updates now support Agent Package Manager (APM). Dependabot opens pull requests to update supported git dependencies declared in apm.yml and regenerates apm.lock.yaml when that file is present. The source says this covers version updates only, not security updates.
What changes for platform teams
Platform teams that manage AI agent skills, prompts, and instructions through APM can add an apm entry to dependabot.yml to get automated update pull requests. The feature does not provide security updates for these dependencies.
