Amazon EKS Capabilities now supports Argo CD Notifications
Amazon EKS Capability for Argo CD now supports Argo CD Notifications, which send messages when applications sync, fail, or change health. Triggers and message templates are defined in the cluster, and applications subscribe through annotations as in upstream Argo CD. Notifications can be delivered to 16 services, including Slack, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Amazon SQS and Amazon EventBridge.
What changes for platform teams
Platform teams using the EKS Argo CD capability can route deployment events to SQS or EventBridge using the IAM Capability Role without storing credentials in the cluster. For services needing third-party tokens, an AWS Secrets Manager ARN can be used instead, and standard charges apply for the downstream AWS services.
